Meet our host:
Dr. Mark J. Thomas earned his B.S. in Animal Science at Cornell University and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at the College of Veterinary Medicine. He also completed the Penn State Dairy Production Medicine Certificate Program, is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) – certified in dairy practice –, and has received the AABP Merial Excellence in Preventive Medicine in Dairy Award. Dr. Thomas is a founding partner, consulting veterinarian, and the leader of the Dairy Health & Management research team. His main focus is production and preventative medicine, but he also engages in consulting services in the areas of nutrition, reproduction, milk quality, and replacement rearing. Dr. Thomas enjoys lecturing at meetings and also teaches veterinary students through various programs.

Meet our guest:
Dr. Luciano Caixeta is a highly accomplished individual with extensive experience in the field of veterinary medicine and academia. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Caixeta brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role.
Prior to his current position, Dr. Caixeta held the position of Dairy Field Service Clinical Instructor at Colorado State University. Dr. Caixeta's educational background is equally impressive. He holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University, where he pursued his research interests and made significant contributions to his field of study. Additionally, he obtained his D.V.M. from Universidade Federal de Goiás in Brazil, laying a solid foundation for his veterinary career.
